A cold winter wind blew in from the north, causing swirls of snowflakes to rise from the gathering of powder on the suburban lawns and roads.  Most people were tucked away inside their homes, snuggled close to their families and loved ones around fireplaces during this flash snow storm.  However, a young woman ran through the streets, her black boots making muffled crunching sounds as they came in contact with the soft blanket on the ground.  Her blonde hair flew behind her, her head covered in a pink cap; she carried with her a half-knitted scarf wrapped around one hand, the other tucked deeply into the sleeve of her brown winter coat.

"I hope I'm not too late," She thought, sprinting towards a specific house. She had spent the entire day working on the scarf and, due to the sky's dull gray color, had lost track of time until she noticed that it had gotten significantly darker.  She took shortcuts through backyards, telling herself that she had to get there by any means necessary to make up for the crossing of private property.

She eventually stopped in front of a house very similar to all the other houses on the street; a simple two floored house with gray tiling for the roof and brickwork that left the house looking brown instead of red.  From what she could see there weren't any cars in the driveway; she immediately felt her heart sink at the thought that she had come too late.  She fought through the snow covered bushes of the garden to press her face against the front window, her breath fogging up the glass, to peer inside.  The front room was empty of any furniture or pictures that marked it as a home; from what she could see, the rest of the house resembled the front room.

"It's…empty," She thought dejectedly, pulling away from the glass.  Her face had left an imprint on the glass, slowly fading away until it looked as if nothing had been pressed against it at all.  She slid down against the wall, burying her face into the half-finished scarf.  Tears stung at her eyes as she felt waves of memories crashing over her, realizing that she wouldn't be able to share anymore memories with her best friend and first love.

"He's gone," She whimpered, wiping at her eyes with the sleeve of her jacket, "I-I knew he…he was leaving, a-and I s-screwed it up! Now he won't come back…I-I'll never see him again…"

"Who won't you see again," A young man asked, kneeling down to her level. Her head jolted up, her blue eyes immediately meeting with brown. Her eyes began to tear with joy as she launched herself at him, knocking him onto the ground as the snow cushioned his landing.

"D-David," She cried happily, her face buried in the crook of his neck. "What are you doing here? I-I thought you would be at your new p-place by now."

David chuckled, patting her head. "Geez Bailey, all these tears for me? I almost thought that Bieber kid died for a second."

Bailey pouted, glaring at him intensely through teary eyes. "Oh just shut up about that stupid preteen crush and answer me!" She said, poking him in the chest. David pretended to be hurt, when really his sweater and thick jacket prevented him from even feeling the poke.

"Well, if you must know, the guys invited me for an impromptu 'Dude you're leaving this suburb and going to the next, let's have a farewell celebration' party," He said, rubbing the back of his neck, "My parents said I could go and that they would pick me up later, since my dad thought I'd be a hindrance to the moving process. Guess he was right; we weren't supposed to leave until now!" He said, looking at his watch.

Bailey sat up, putting her hands on her hips. "And just why wasn't I told about this? You could've called you know!"

"Bales, I did call. Like three times before the party started. Your phone was turned off for some strange reason," Bailey blushed slightly as she realized she turned her phone off to keep from having any distractions, "Then I went over your house to see if you wanted to come, but your parents said you already left for my house. So then I come here, find you sobbing, and here we are!"

"Well…I…oh, just take this you jerk," Bailey said, shoving the scarf at David.  He took it from her hands, examining it carefully, noticing that she had knitted his initials into the scarf. He then looked up at Bailey, who sat on his legs with her arms crossed, staring at the ground.

"…You do realize this is only half-finished, right?"

"I was trying to beat the original deadline," Bailey whined, slapping her hands on the ground. "Besides, I would've thought you wouldn't care what you got to remember me by, just as long as you got something." She muttered under her breath, turning away from him.

David sighed, running a hand through his hair as he pulled her into a tight hug. Bailey blushed as she returned the hug, her arms wrapping around his neck.

"I do like it," David said, "I'm just being an ass. Now come on, let's get to Brad's! He's got a huge fireplace and giant marshmallows to roast!"

Bailey nodded, getting up off David as they both clamored to their feet. David wrapped the scarf around his neck; he knew it looked odd, but he felt that it just wouldn't be right to not wear the scarf. Bailey suddenly began running, tossing David a look over her shoulder as she headed towards Brad's house.

"Last one there is a rotten egg," She called out, turning back around and running full speed ahead.  David grinned as he broke into a full run, knowing that he'd easily catch her with his longer strides. Bailey giggled, looking behind her as she saw David begin to catch up to her.

"Even if I don't say it, will you notice them?"

David caught up to her, immediately catching her in a bear hug and spinning her around. Bailey screamed with laughter, slapping David and commanding him to put her down.

"Hold me tight…Only if this is what it feels like to love someone."

David eventually released her behind him, leaving her dizzy as he sprinted towards Brad's house, his own path showing that his cheating made him disoriented. Bailey ran after him, her clumsy steps mirroring his own as they both plowed ahead through the ever piling snow.

"Just like the snow…My feelings will accumulate."
I've been obsessed with a certain song lately. Thus, this was born. coughsorryforclutteringinboxeswithcrapcough

But here's the fun part! If you can guess the song, I will take any writing prompt you give me and turn it into something. That's right; ANYTHING. You could give me rabid unicorns and I'd have to do it. I'm only giving one hint as to what the song is, and here it is: The song is not in English.

Good luck!
